SEAC members have been producing infographics depicting important topics that impact students with disabilities. Our goal is to share them with special education stakeholders as a way of starting a conversation around expanding awareness and finding solutions to complex problems. We know that inclusion, when done correctly, can increase positive outcomes in all children at any age. This infographic aims to help parents be more knowledgeable about support staff who, in addition to their child’s teacher, may be assigned to assist their child with academic, behavioral and self-help needs. It also clarifies which individuals are licensed to supervise paraprofessional staff implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Download PDF here

Aimed at summarizing Hawaii’s continuum of student supports for educators, this two-page infographic describes the three tiers of support available for students’ academic, behavior, social-emotional, and physical needs. Common terms are explained and an example of a student receiving multi-level supports is shared.
